This site, http://malwaretips.com/blogs/pup-optional-outbrowse-removal has 4 steps listed for removing pup-optional-outbrowse. The third step is to run Malwarebytes, which is where I first detected and quarantined this pup.

These are the 4 steps listed and stated to all be run in this order:

STEP 1: Remove PUP.Optional.OutBrowse adware with AdwCleaner
STEP 2: Remove PUP.Optional.OutBrowse browser hijacker with Junkware Removal Tool
STEP 3: Remove PUP.Optional.OutBrowse virus with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free
STEP 4: Double-check for the PUP.Optional.OutBrowse infection with HitmanPro
